Legendary Iron Angel (GER) strikes back with their latest release ‘Hellbound’

IRON ANGEL is one of the true cult legends of the German Speed Metal genre. Formed in the Hamburg-area back in 1980 and known for two classic eighties metal album “Hellish Crossfire” from 1985 and “Winds Of War” from 1986 and a reputation as a staggering live band.

The band has toured Germany with KING DIAMOND and in recent years they have showed they are still a live band to reckon with on festivals on Metal Magic in 2016 and earlier this year at the Headbanger’s Open Air in Germany.

The band also recently toured South America with big success. Now the time has finally come for the long awaited come-back album from the band – the first studio album in over 30 years! “Hellbound” released as a big priority in May 2018 worldwide through Scandinavia’s premiere metal-rock label Mighty Music

This meal is delicious, but in the end the pure combination of the finest ingredients of the contemporary Metal cuisine whet your appetite and leaves you craving for more!

Built-in Obsolescence – INSTAR

Built-in Obsolescence is a musical project born in Riccione (Italy) in 2010. The band started composing songs inspired to various metal genres, developing in time a sound akin to Alternative and Progressive Metal with Post Rock and Ambient influences. Introspective and dark themes are intertwined with the band instrumental composition, leading to vivid journeys into humanity’s behaviours, its hopes and troubles.

2. Sine Requie
3. The Wave
4. Ground Launch Sequencer
5. Project: Almaz
6. Watching the Wake
7. Shara
8. Lashes
9. Biotronic
10. AD 9878
11. Ecdysis

Instar is a phase of development in the life of arthropods. The animal periodically leaves its vital protection, its exoskeleton. Then, soft and vulnerables are ready to new growth and a new armour will form. In this LP the human being is seen as a moulting insect, changing shape, but nonetheless ever connected to a greater ambient embracing him.

The album concept is expressed through stories and abstract lyrics revolving around hopes and delusions, reality and illusions. Narration starts with Dance of Falling Leaves, an abrupt realisation of the inexorable flow of time in which are scattered mellow memories. Time soothe man like the breeze lull leaves on trees. The same time that strips leaves from branches and delusions from minds. This is a recurring image in the subsequent songs. The album end with a long, abstract and profound composition: Ecdysis is humanity’s last observation of itself, out of space and time, before embracing change.

Hornwood Fell – Inferus

Inferus is the latest EP release by the Italian Black Metal band ‘Hornwood Fell’. It contains three-tracks of total running time 15:52 and It was self-released on 29th April, 2018. The band has previously released three full lengths on Avantgarde Music gathering a lot of positive feedback. A must for the fans of the 2nd Norwegian Black Metal Wave.

Hornwood Fell was formed in 2014 with the aim of performing second wave Norwegian-inspired Black Metal music. Their first self-titled album, released by Avantgrade Music, a well-known music label of this genre, was inspired by bands such as: Ulver, Darkthrone and Kvist.

In the second album “Yheri” the band’s line-up changed when the bassist Andrea Vacca left the band. So the band which was originally a trio became a “duo” made up of the twin Basili brothers and in “Yheri” the bass guitar was played by Marco Basili. The second album is a concept and the band enriched their sound by incorporating psychedelic elements maintaining a strong Nordic Black Metal influence combined with clean vocals. The album was released in 2015 by Avantgarde Music.

On the 7th of November 2017, the third album “My Body My Time” was released once again by the well-known Italian label which differed greatly from its predecessors: it is the boldest and most emblematic album which touches unexplored Black Metal territories.

In April 2018 “Inferus” was ready to be released which is an Ep with a completely different style; “Inferus” is a beautifully dissonant, chaotic and extremely dark work.

Dawn Ahead – Trip of Violence

A Trip of Violence is the 2nd EP by the German Heavy/Thrash Metal band Dawn Ahead. It contains five tracks of total running time 24:46 and it was independently released on April 14th, 2018.

Sinister Thoughts
A Trip Into the Dark
A Taste of Violence
The Betrayal
The One and Only

Dawn Ahead were originally founded in the spring of 2011. The founding members were guitarist and songwriter Thomas Wolf, and the Colombian bassist Alfonso “Pocho” Mejia. First songs were written by home recording before a few weeks later Marcel Martin joined as a guitarist and songwriter for the band.

After Jan Bechtlof (drums) and Chrischaan Wilsberg (vocals), have completed the Band in 2012, Dawn Ahead were able to begin regular Rehearsals. Dawn Ahead follows a very controversial style, which includes classic elements of Metal, and modern sounds. The extremely versatile musical range of classical but very hard metal, through progressive elements, to the brutal Thrash, overwhelmed basically all drawer fetishists and style fanatics.

In April 2014 Dawn Ahead released their self titled 5 track EP, and have since been looking for a label to produce the first official Album.

On 14.04.2018 the new 6-Track EP “A Trip Of Violence” was released. A Trip Of Violence turned out to be much more aggressive than the first release. For 2019, Dawn Ahead have finally scheduled their first album.

Blitzkrieg was formed in October 1980 after signing a record deal with Neat Records, a label that was signing many of the bands involved with the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) movement. In the early stages of Blitzkrieg’s career they regularly produced gigs in England, but then later split in 1981.

Brian Ross most notably went on to join Satan, another metal band, along with stints in Avenger, Lone Wolf and Unter den Linden. In 1984 Ross and fellow founding member Jim Sirotto, along with guitarist Mick Proctor (ex-Tygers of Pan Tang), bass player Mick Moore (of Avenger) and drummer Sean Taylor (Satan/Blind Fury, ex-Raven) then decided that it was time to record the Blitzkrieg album that was originally planned to be released in 1981, A Time of Changes. It was later released in 1985. Blitzkrieg released 10 Years of Blitzkrieg in 1991. The released Unholy Trinity in 1995. The album Ten was released in 1997. The Mists of Avalon was released in 1998.

Ross was then involved in a car accident, which temporarily kept Blitzkrieg from playing. After he recovered, the band released the albums, Absolute Power (a studio album), Absolutely Live (a live album) and Sins and Greed. On 10 August 2007, Blitzkrieg released their album Theatre of the Damned through their record label Armageddon Music.

Blitzkrieg is the seventh track from Metallica’s 1998 album Garage, Inc. second disc. It was written by Ian Jones, Jim Sirotto and Brian Ross, with a length of 3:36. Originally released by Blitzkrieg in 1981 as a B-side to the “Buried Alive” single, Metallica had already released their version on 1984’s “Creeping Death” single (aka Garage Days Revisited). Metallica have played this song live 82 times. The first time was March 14, 1982, in Anaheim, CA.
